Description

The curtain sign is a distinct artifact identified during point-of-care lung ultrasound (LUS). Many LUS protocols recommend avoiding the curtain sign. However, by understanding what creates the curtain sign and what it looks like on LUS, the curtain sign can be used to orientate the sonographer, help identify sites on the thorax the probe should be placed to identify and differentiate pathology, and even diagnose conditions such as pleural effusion, lung consolidation and pneumothorax with confidence, and within seconds!
